Black Phoebe (1 Viewer)

Saw this one in an area frequented by black phoebes and thought that's what this one was but upon further review, something just doesn't look right. The head shape on this one is more rounded than the phoebe and the coloring isn't right for an adult or juvenile.

Is it a phoebe?

Yes, it is a Black Phoebe, but the plumage is worn. its holding its head closer to its body so it looks more "squished"

A juvenile would show pale buffy wing bars. I'm thinking this bird has a touch of leucism.

Definitely a Black Phoebe.
