Saw 5 or 6 birds I have not seen before and my book suggested they were black tailed godwits at Old Moor RSPB Reserve near Barnsley. Do you think that can be right? Getting a camera soon so will be able to post a picture. Can't wait! God bless.

No reason why not.

I saw Black Tailed Godwits at Potteric Carr a couple of weeks ago, so they are very likely to be at Old Moor as well.

And they were definitely at Blacktoft Sands last Sunday - along with a flock of about 800 Teal, a wonderful sight as they flew in.

I saw black tailed godwits at old moor on sunday and at wombwell ings golden plover numbers getting higher also a few pinkes ,ruff and greenshanks B :)

I was at Old Moor a week or so back, definitely Black Tailed Godwits there then. In addition a couple of curlew sandpipers, and golden plover's were around the 400 mark.
Two of my favourite places mentioned on this thread, Potteric and Old moor.:t:
