Ruby Throated Hummingbird Migration Map 2007 (1 Viewer)

Dumb question time:

I'm in the Kansas City area, and I've heard different theories about when is the earliest date that I should put my feeders out. Any thoughts?

If you compare the migration maps from prior years (all available on the site indicated above by Starzz), the first sighting dates are fairly constant from year to year for all locations. These maps predict an arrival date for your area in the middle of April. I think that if you set up your feeders one week earlier than that, you can be fairly sure that you won't miss even the very fist bird.

Spica,

Thanks. That's kinda what I thought, and I think that's what I've got on my calender. Someone at the hospital was trying to tell me to get them out in the last week of March.
