Jackar universal adapter & Celestron Regal 80 F-ED (1 Viewer)

I'm after a bit of advice...

If I unscrew the eyecup on my Celestron Regal scope I expose a 37mm thread. Will a Jackar Universal Adapter fit directly onto that thread? Or am I effectively trying to match male to male? Do I need to use the supplied T2 adapter that came with my scope plus a 37mm to T2 stepping ring?
