Manfrotto 055CX3 or 055CXPRO3 or ? (1 Viewer)

I am looking to replace my old Manfrotto 055XWNB aluminum tripod with a carbon fiber model.

I would like to have the all carbon fiber and magnesium PRO model but I am not so sure that I like the two-way center column. It seems like it could be less rigid, and I don't need the ability to use the center column horizontally.

Does anyone have any experience with either the 055CX3 or 055CXPRO3 or have other suggestions in the $300-400 range?

Thanks,
Mike

I have the older model 055MFV. The 055CX3 is an updated version and should be a very good tripod. I use it for my old TSN-1 now, but have also used it with my TSN-883 without problems.

Thanks for the reply Wachtel. After noticing that the 055CX3 did not have leg warmers I found the 055CXV3, basically the new version of your 055MFV. It has a one piece non-pivoting center column and leg warmers.

It arrived yesterday and has already been put to use. Not much lighter than my 055 XWNB but it is definitely more rigid. I am quite happy with it so far.

Mike
