Darter colouring (1 Viewer)

I just photographed this Darter, but looking around the white pattern on the throat seems anomalous. Does anyone know if this is normal colouring at some stage of the bird's life?
Cheers,
Graeme

I just read the wikipedia article more carefully and it mentions coalescing black speckles for the male.
This one shows rather more than speckling, but it fits the description well enough.

I admired your beautiful picture, but wasn't sure what aspect you thought was unusual. I admit I'd never noticed the speckling on the sides of the head. When I looked at Oriental Bird Club (here), I thought yours looked similar.

Thanks. I'd never seen that speckling and my bird book didn't mention it, so I was a bit unsure. But you're right, my looks very similar to those other images so I'm content now :)
