Wife and I went to Shawnee Mission Park last weekend and saw tons of stuff, including Eastern bluebirds, Balitmore orioles, summer tanagers, blue grey gnatcatcher (lifer) and cedar waxwings. I had not seen summer tanagers or cedar wax wings so close.

If anyone is in the area its a great time of year for colorful birds at this park.

went back on Monday with photographer friend and got a nice tanager pic for my avatar and this waxwing.

I miss Kansas- (I was in Lawrence and Garden City) my Mississippi Kites should be back and nesting by now. We had a nest in the Elm in our front yard.
