I've just arrived at Johannesburg and I'm staying with my uncle before i goto Zimbabwe. The first 3 pics are of weavers, females or nonbreeding males (or both), but I can't decide whether they are Southern or Lesser Masked weavers. Going by my field guide I would say they are more Southern looking - Larger bill, dark eyes, pink legs. but the Southern is illustrated with a grey bill in my field guide, and seems alot less yellow too.
The last photo is of a raptor, flying over the house. I only just managed to get a photo. I noticed as it flew past that its legs were quite orange. My opinion is lizard buzzard, judging by the wings, but I cant see the head or tail well enough to be sure.
Everyones opinions are much appreciated
Thank you-
