Buying some binoculars for the wife (1 Viewer)

Bins for the wife...

My wife liked neither my Leica Ultravid 10x42 nor my Zeiss Victory FL T* 8x42.... yet she loves the $180 pair of Canon 7x42 AWP bins I snatched up just after they were discontinued. After all is said and done, they aren't "alpha" bins and don't purport to be alpha bins, but they perform beautifully and the price to feature ratio is unbelievable. Go figure...

Speaking as a member of the fairer sex ;), and if money were no object, I'd have the Ziess FL 8x32s. They are the lightest on the market and (if they're anything like the 8x20s) superb optically. The Nikon EDG is a little heavier and, personally, as a lady who doesn't have big muscles, weight is everything. Of course, having said all of that, I'd expect you're wife to want to try before she buys anyway. Hope that helps rather than hinders :t:
