Pied flycatcher? Mauritania (1 Viewer)

BirdingRob

Brit abroad
Truly massive passage today at the waste water site north of Nouakchott.

This bird was one of them. Is it poorly marked young pied flycatcher. I can't make it out as anything else?

All help gratefully received.

Rob

Possibly a worn adult female? The absence of a primary patch (vertical notch) is supposedly a field mark for a 1st winter bird, but the edges of the tertials don't look that that broad to me (is it also missing one?).
