Hello!

Please help me identify these birds from May Po on Hong Kong. All photographed in May.

1. Asian Dowitchers? I saw a few others but already in the breeding plumage.
2. Common Greenshank? Can it be Nordmann's?
3-4 Which starling?

Do you have any more side-on pictures of the Starling? I'm looking at the Viney book and am still unsure!

I think this starling has a bit of a look of juvenile White Wagtail about it!

I agree, a juvenile leucopsis White Wagtail. It's surprising how much the first photo looks like a starling though!

Others are Asian Dowitchers and Common Greenshank.

A juvenile already in May? Presumably would be OK as far south as Hong Kong, but thought it worth checking

Yes. White Wagtails are quite early breeders here. I think the first juveniles usually turn up in April.

white wagtail was my suspicion too but then bill looked a bit on the strong side and tail tip hanging so much down and not in line with wings...
