Twitching omens (1 Viewer)

What twitching omens / superstitions / runs of good (and bad) luck have birders encountered?

To kick off, at present I have yet to dip on any twitch that involves air or sea travel (a run of 17 at the minute).

Most of my twitching companions have blotted their copy-books at some point; probaby leading the way is Archie Archer with Ticks 4 Dips 0.

I had never dipped on Scillies/ had a tick on the first day until that B@st*rd Waterthrush which I dipped twice on, and you guessed it Archie was with me the 1st time and ticked Black&White Warbler despite dipping the Waterthrush was more than happy!!

I've never dipped when going for a first for Australia with Eurasian in it's name........

Albeit only 2/2 so far :t:
