Tice's Meadow and Tongham GP, Surrey (1 Viewer)

It's the summer and things have started cooling down bird wise. The water levels have dropped considerably but this has been a bonus for breeding Common Tern with about 25 pairs now on site.

Insects are now at the fore and it would be great to see reports of Dragonflies and Butterflies. Yesterday produced my first Marbled White of the year and both Banded and Beautiful Demoiselle.

The Tice's Meadow Bird Group are competing to win a £1,000 grant from Aviva to help us save our reed beds. We plan to spend the grant on tools for our volunteers, transplanting new reeds and hiring contractors to help us.

You can help make a difference by voting for our project. Registration and voting is free, you get 10 votes to allocate, and it shouldn't take longer than a few minutes.

Please register and vote for us at:
