Hi,

I have doubts about the bird you can see in the pictures. Is it a Virginia rail or a Ridgway's rail?. It was seen in Salton Sea, California, USA, last November 17th. Pictures are from the same individual.

I also need help with this other bird, also from Salton Sea. Seems an immature Red-winged blackbird, but I an not sure.

Second bird looks like a young Red-winged Blackbird, possibly a male from the black face?

Ridgways Rail and RW-blackbird. Ridgways is the most common Rail sp. at Salton Sea.
