Seeking Advice: Birds, Weather, Midges (1 Viewer)

My wife and I are hoping to visit the Scottish Highlands for a month in the Spring of 2015. We especially want to go above Skye to the islands west of there. Given that we are hoping for a good bird mix, decent weather, and the least midges possible...when in April-May would you suggest coming? We are just beginning to plan our trip so we are very flexible about adapting based on the advice of those in the know.

Much Thanks for Any and All Opinions, Chuck

Last week of April, first week of May.

The spring is in full swing, with still some wintering sea birds (Great Northern Divers a true treat) hanging around before they head off to the Arctic.

Buy smidge that midge repellent. All else is inferior - it truly absolutely is the best you will ever get (That said, numbers won't be in the 'huge black clouds' ballpark)
