Strawberry Tortrix (1 Viewer)

I had a small tortrix in the trap this morning that didn't hang around to be photographed. I immediately recognized it in Sterling & Parsons as Strawberry Tortrix Acleris comariana. Checking photos online I've not been able to find an image that resembles my moth, they are all much more colourful and often with a dark bar behind the thorax that my moth lacked.

Has anyone any experience with this species and how good an image is the painting in S&P? I hate not having a photo of anything NFG and I'm not happy with the record now, don't trust my memory. |=(|

Thanks

Nick

Frustrating when that happens - we all have stories of the one(s) that got away. It's a very variable species and easily confused with A.laterana so I fear the record wouldn't be accepted without confirmation by gen det.

Thanks David, I'm sure another one will come my way one day. |=)|
