Banana Tree Bird (1 Viewer)

We have banana trees in our yard in California, and a greenish-yellowish bird (that blends in with our banana tree) built a nest in our trees. Can any of you tell us what kind of bird this is? I've attached pictures of the bird and the nest.

Hi Profmary and welcome to BirdForum. I'm not altogether sure what your bird is, but it looks rather like a female Hooded Oriole to me. I'm sure others will be along soon to give a more definite opinion.

Kind of penumbral shots, Mary, but I'll second Jason's opinion, because of the long down-curved bill (beak).
