great crow PBS show... (1 Viewer)

well this is sad, just to share, they prove by an ingenious experiment that crows are as intelligent as chimps even more so. In one they show how the crow uses a tool to get food, they up it another level by setting up a little wooden grate that the crow has to use a small stick to get the big stick that can reach the food, then up one more level by tying the small stick on a string and hanging it from a perch, then the crow has to pull up the string, use the small stick to get the big one( he tried the small stick first to reach the food, seeing if he could skip a step, but it didn't reach) then get the big stick to get the food, only one other animal could do this 3 level process which needs thinking. (Crows were not caged, but free flying)

They were more intelligent than dogs in recognizing how to get rewards from pictures flashed on a screen, and almost as fast as young children to figure it out.

Crows mate for life....
