I have never been particularly fond of bacon but my husband loves it. As we are both watching cholesterol levels, the fat is now cut off, and I have been saving it in the freezer, to give to the birds when it gets colder.
What I am not sure about is whether I can put it out raw, or should I cook, drain the fat off, and put both out as there is usually some flesh and stringy bits? I would chop it up of course! I have used the cooked fat before, in bird puddings. I don't use salty bacon by the way.
