Bill we were reading some stats the other day and were amazed to hear that the Mourning doves are THE most numbered birds in North America bnow.. and in the state of Washington they still consider them game birds.... I personally love their soft cooing noises and have always wondered how they survived as they make the worst darn nests in the entire bird world!!!

We have up to ten Collared Doves (which look very similar)in the garden together which I thought was good going, but you beat that easily.
 
Hey, its a group photo. You depict their camoflaging ability very well.

Gaye, in Utah they are also considered a game bird, though they are not nearly as plentiful.
