Whose this guy with the Dowitchers? :) (1 Viewer)

Taken in Brooklyn N.Y. Thursday morning...


I'm pretty sure these are short billed Dowitchers, and this marsh is full of different shore birds. I could clearly see Least and Semi-Palmated Sandpipers, but this bird, to the left of the Dowitchers, doesn't really look like them...

Any help appreciated...

Maybe a Pectoral Sandpiper - have you got a photo showing the front of the bird?

Sadly, I'm not happy with these shots, and this is the best I can do. They were a long way off, and this is a very close crop...

I'm pretty sure it is a Pectoral, even without the front view; only other yellow-legged peep in the vicinity is Least Sandpiper, and it wouldn't be as "tall" as this bird - they tend to look short-legged and hunched-over.

Looks like a Pec, to me also, note the white braces.
