Thought that there may be some interest in my records from a birding trip to Xishuangbanna, southern Yunnan recently.

(There are some other of my China-birding reports as well as my survey of the birds of the Wenyu River, Beijing on the same page):

Best regards from Beijing.

Really good to see you resurrect this thread (and remind me to have a look through it) ;)

Xishuangbanna is on my 'To Do' list for the year so great to read your report.

Enjoyed your Photostream too - you have a really good eye for street photography !

Another vote for resurrection - I've missed your updates from allover China - and also whetted my appetite for Xishuanbanna as probably the bets site to take my China list over thr 1,000 mark

Cheers
Mike

Thank you Frogfish and Mike

That's very kind you.

Yes indeed Mike, southern Yunnan is rich in just-in-China species, but the Gaoligongshan and western Yunnan are much richer and a far better experience in many ways.

Best regards from a ridiculously-polluted Beijing (the attached screen grab shows just how polluted).

Steve

totally agree that Gailigongshan and west is better, but I've never been to Xishuangbanna and red all the Thai stuff for my China list.

Cheers
Mike
