Paintings of observed birds

Hi,

I try and take a digiscoped photo of new birds spotted.

It is also my intention to produce a watercolour of birds that I've seen, ideally using one of my photos as the subject.

Attached are a couple of sample record paintings.

My painting of the Canada Goose isn't from one of my photos but the Ruff & Redshank is and I've attached the original photo taken from my video footage.

I do most of my watching at RSPB Loch of Strathbeg in NE Scotland and have gathered quite a selection of record photos. Strathbeg is a prolific place for birds.

Desert Wheatear

Hi all,

Many thanks for all your kind comments.

There are a lot of talented people showing work here..... inspiring.

I've posted a study watercolour of a Desert Wheatear along with my original photos.

This is the bird that will set a UK record of 114 days if it is still present at the site in NE Scotland on Monday.............let's hope it makes it.....horrendous weather here at the moment.

Very nice work indeed! By the way, your weather is on the news here in Norway today, and it looks bad even for us. A real test for the Wheatear, I should think...
