28. South Mountain Park/Preserve in Phoenix is the largest municipal park in the country.
The park is a large desert preserve located along the southern edge of the City of Phoenix. There is a road to the top of the mountain ridge offering a panoramic view of the surrounding area.

One area for birding is Pima Canyon located at the eastern end of the park.
