Really had the best of it yesterday evening : a beautiful fledgling green woodpecker, speckled like a gaudy starling, curious and noisy, both parents in attendance but very shy. Priceless.

This day 1962 we said, 'Goodbye, Norma Jean', God Bless, rest in peace. So ... 'Next !' and the big question of the day is Charles Brockson going to pull it off ? Trying to help Geena Davis pull it back alas came to naught :-C, and now looking a little long in tooth I guess she, along with the superannuated SE, has been relegated to the 'Vintage and Classifieds' but fear not, Brockson, and embrace all the younger generation has to offer. Am I right in thinking you can post as many times as you like to this thread to be in with a better chance of winning, as long as you don't post more than once every 24 hours?

And on the subject of books we have struggled our way through - a few years I decided I should fill a gap in my literary knowledge and read Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Blimey, that was tough going. Not because the language is difficult or anything, it's just rubbish! I read somewhere up around 80 books a year (maybe more) but that one took me a couple of weeks and it felt like a real chore. But I can't stop reading a book I have started until I reach the end, even if it's dire
