Something very odd just happened.I have a feeder up,it looks like a cottage, and the black capped chickadees love it.I heard a nuthatch pecking a seed open on it.So I go to get a closer look and,no nuthatch. The noise is coming from inside the feeder!Seems that a small chickadee got stuck in there.I opened the feeder, and out came a chickadee. If it wouldv'e stayed in there,I think it could have died quickly.Isn't that the weirdest thing?

Do you know how the chickadee got in? And if it's made of wood, can you drill out the hole a bit larger so it -- or other birds -- can get out if they get in? There are some types of feeders that aren't constructed well -- they're cute but they weren't made with the safety of birds in mind. If it's a new feeder and there's no way to insure that birds can't get trapped inside, you might want to return it and get a different design. Good thing you were home and heard him pecking away! :t:

Yeah,It was.I think it got in by going where the seeds come out,and just snuck underneath, and couldn't get out.Mabye I should put some water in there with the seed!Lol
