Out of Season Osprey (1 Viewer)

My wife was driving up the M6 to Gretna on Saturday 17th Dec @ approx 1500 when an Osprey flew across the motorway heading downriver on the River Esk at Metalbridge. It quite clearly had a fish approx a foot long held in its tallons. My wife has seen them often before in Scotland and more locally. Another driver was equally surprised as they both swerved at the sighting.

That is a late bird. I was once told juvenile Ospreys were seen fishing at a fish farm near Inverness in November, but, its cutting it fine if its still here at this time of year.
