Tim further reports Barn Owl over the east side of the Moors Pool at 6pm and all 6 Whooper Swans flying north at 6:10pm - is this goodbye or just au revoir?

From the Moors Pool this morning Dave J reports:

3 Oystercatcher, 11 Curlew, 7 Shelduck, 9 Gadwall, 25 Pochard, no sign of the long-staying Whooper Swan

Barn Owl showed again this evening at the Flashes from 5:59pm as per Wali Taylor. Also 1 Green Sandpiper came in to roost.

late report from Saturday evening from the Moors ,greeted by Water rail calling along the causeway, from the new hide feeders Blue tits, Great tits,Dunnocks ,Bull finches plus Robin. In the water 2 Mute swans,Heron,Tufted duck, coots fighting and Morhen. Flying over Little Egret.
On to the Jacobs hide High lights, 6 whooper swans. good number of Pochard and Shoveler, could only see 5 Shelducks, Barn Owl hunted on the east side flying right in front of the hide it must of known I was was in the west,8-P ,Canada geese flew out leaving 2 Greylags, Just opening up the car on the car park came a call that made me look up 6 Whooper swans flying north with silent wings. Maybe the call was just a flight call or maybe it was saying goodbye.
Anyway last photo of the 6 and tell the Blue tit to hold off nesting for a week its going to be cold.
