Birdringing Camp in Danube Delta (Romania) (1 Viewer)

Hi,
the GdJ (http://gdj.nosoiseaux.ch/) organize for the 4th time an International Bird Ringing camp in 2014, but for the first time during spring migration. It will take place between March 18th and June 15th in Sfântu Gheorghe; a small village located in the Romanian part of the Danube Delta (http://sfantu-gheorghe.ro/en/). The location is particularly well situated with seaside, numerous wetlands due to the delta and some steppic areas due to the rather dry climate of the region. The geographic situation and the diversity of habitats attract a variety of birds. More than 270 species had been recorded in Sf. Gheorghe area including some major rarities for Romania such Pallas’s Leaf Warbler (Phylloscopus proregulus), Dusky Warbler (Phylloscopus fuscatus), Hume’s Leaf Warbler (Phylloscpus humei), Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler (Locustella certhiola), Pine Bunting (Emberiza leucocephalos), Siberian Stonechat (Saxicola maurus), Rüppell's warbler (Sylvia Rupelli) or Trumpeter Finch (Bucanetes githagineus).
The number of places for volunteers is limited. For this edition, we search, by period: maximum 6 motivated persons including at least 1-2 ringers in charge and maximum 1-2 persons “without experience”. The work normally take place during all the day long between dawn and night. Accommodation is under tent. For registration download the file here: http://danubebirdringing.wordpress.com/edition2014/ (if you cannot write on the document, click “view” --> “modify the document”, filled it and return it to the address below). A small fee for food is required (note that the amounts indicated in the document will be probably less).
For further information visit our website (http://danubebirdringing.wordpress.com/) or our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/danubebirdringing?ref=hl), or contact me by mail ([email protected]). Note that we are also open for any kinds of collaboration (collection of data, scientific research project, communication or donation).
In the hope to see you next spring in the wonderful Danube Delta!
