Tuesday February 15, 2005:
A OSPREY was spotted soaring above Highway One near the Forestry Museum in north Duncan.
HUTTON'S VIREO, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, FOX SPARROWS and about forty AMERICAN ROBINS were seen along the Walley Creek Trail just off Hammond Bay Road in north Nanaimo.

Monday February 14:
"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen along the Walley Creek Trail between Frank Ney Elementary School and the adjacent playground. It was spotted in the riparian alders and open understory of the blackberry and salmonberry along the creek in north Nanaimo,( just north of Hammond Bay Road between Williamson and Entwhistle Roads).
Twelve EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at the Pryde Vista Golf Course in Nanaimo.

"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A ROCK WREN was spotted at the Butterball Road beach access in Eaglecrest area of Qualicum Beach.

COMMON and RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, VARIED THRUSH and forty BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen at Schooner Cove in Nanoose Bay.

Thursday February 10:
Several EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo.

Wednesday February 09:
Four VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were spotted along Doumont Road and Brennan Lake in north Nanaimo.
A RED CROSSBILL was seen near the Parksville Train Station.
One HUTTON'S VIREO was sighted at Woodstream Park in the Departure Bay area, off Bay Street in Nanaimo.

Monday February 07:
Four SWALLOWS were seen along Doumont Road in north Nanaimo.
The first sighting of a TURKEY VULTURE for this year was over Hammond Bay Road in Nanaimo.
