Does any of it filter down to the everyday people, perhaps in the form of tax relief?
We have a fully redistributive system, also known as "socialism" in the US of A!

Let us know especially how the 10x50 SV's compare to the 8x32 SV's. I don't have a 10x maybe that would be a good pair. I just don't know about 35 oz. though. We have a fully redistributive system, also known as "socialism" in the US of A!

Yeah! Keep on driving those V8s!

I ordered mine without Rolling balls and Absam ring, and they gave me a discount for the downgrade3
As long as you Yankees keep guzzling those gallons, we, the premier oil producing nation of Europe, will keep rolling in it! :-O

I wouldn't pat myself on the back so hard if i were a Norwegian......the State of Texas produdes more crude oil daily than your whole country.
We do benefit from high oil prices though, due to American (and increasingly Chinese) consumption.

Don't blame me, I only take out my gas guzzling 707 hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat on the weekends.

I thought they called that one the SLC?
Hi!
I got the Swarovski EL SV 10x50 that I ordered last Friday, and I have had good use of it over the weekend.
I have to say that it is a magnificent binocular, but unfortunately, not for me personally...
I did not get along with the ergonomics of the bin, especially the large tumb indents (that seem dimentioned for a Yeti!), and it wasn't as easy to hold and focus as my 8x42 SF. Optically, the SF also seemed a little bit brighter, and had a bit better CA correction to my eyes. AFOV seemed about equal. Glare restistance was about the same. Build quality is of course better on the Swaro....
Although I can see why many people like this bin (and rightly so), I just don't think it is enough of an improvement on my SF to justify the investment.
Basically, it's just a bigger, brighter version of my 8x32 SV EL with better glare resistance and a bit more shake...
This bin will be going back to the dealer for a refund.

with great powers, come big thumb indents, o
but I totally agree, those thumb indents is probably the strangest design feature on the swaros,
only the torturing sharp ridges on my FL binos is worse..just look at the photo..and you can feel the pain in your hands:

Jerry Liguori who wrote HAWKS At A Distance on the "Identification of Migrant Raptors" stated in his book in at page 8 in the paragraph he wrote on "Optics for Hawk Watching" that he personally used a Zeiss Victory FL and had been using it since 2008.

HN, IMHO, you can't compare the 8x42SF to the 10x50SV, 'cause the're both specialists in their own way. Only thing they have in common is the EP, which is about the same (5mm vs 5.25mm)
Was it intended to replace your SF? Or did you want to have it next to the SF and the other bins?
The thumb indents indeed are a bit big, but to be honest, it doesn't bother me. Only the focuser could be placed a bit more towards the objective side for my liking.
CA is a bit more pronounced compared to the little SV, which doesn't show any, at least I can't see it. Still good enough for me though|=)| The glare in the 32 though....... is sometimes annoying. Definitely below par for such an expensive piece.
Could be that the bigger aperture makes it more difficult to suppress CA, I also found out the ATX95 had more CA than the ATX85, which made me decide to buy the latter one.
I still like the SV's, although they both have their quirks. It's a nice couple, the 8x32 and 10x50.
Good thing that you've tried it yourself, it's the only way to find out if it is for you:t:
Binoculars are very personal things, and nobody has a right to argue with your preference. Not even a world famous hawk watcher!
