Bufflehead at Barendrecht, Geese at Strijen (1 Viewer)

In the Netherlands for a couple of days next week (staying near Dordrecht) and was wondering a couple of things.

Does anyone know the status of the drake Bufflehead at Gaatkenplas, in Barendrecht?

Also, is a scope required for the Geese at Oudeland van Strijen? Am really hoping to see the Lesser White-fronts there. I notice a Red-breasted Goose has been reported in recent days too.

Thanks

The Bufflehead in Barendrecht, which has just returned for its 13th (!) winter has been accepted as wild by the Dutch Rarity Committee.

A scope is helpful at Strijen. It's much easier to search through a group of geese that way and they may be distant. But you may bump into someone with a scope if you cannot carry one. There are two or three Red-breasted Geese there at the moment, but as the ancient grassland is not completely level, searching can be harder than you'd expect.

Many thanks Xenospiza.

Managed the Bufflehead, as well as both Lesser White-fronted and Red-breasted Goose. Certainly took some searching though, those polders are deceptive to say the least.
