Hi,

I saw this duck in river Oder between Slubice and Frankfurt.
For size comparing is a coot in front.

Best regards
Dieter

a Mallard - sometimes you have white mallards...maybe due to crosses with domestic ducks in their ancestry (They cross easily ,due to being the same species)

Actually, almost annually, a Mallard matching that description turns up on my local patch in March/April with the spring flocks of 'normal' Mallards ...maybe that's him, having a nap near Berlin :)

Mallard

Hi,

thank You for Your help. Nearby are lots of Coots and Mallards. So my first idea was also hybrid Mallard and Houseduck, even the duck was a little bit smaller than the Mallards.

Best regards
Dieter
