woodpecker is a triumph, and the pheasant is very exciting how the plumage blends into the grass like that, excellent.
 
Arthur these 'peckers are outstanding! Wonderful technique. Seems to me you're curving in a great direction with the brushy pens too. Looking forward to more of both.

Beautiful Arthur - love the eyes...and the feather detail.

The wash gives that added dimension and draws like colours from the feathers...beautifully done!
 
Looking very smart indeed Arthur. This is making for a remarkable series that would look tremendous all framed identically and hanging on a gallery wall.
