The theme for 2006 is Monochrome/Sepia Birds

Photos and artwork of birds taken in or converted to Black & White or Sepia. I thikn the quality of the entries this month nicely demonstrates how well birds can be depicted in monochrome.

We have a good mixture of birds in various situations - portraits, flight, wading, perched, reflections etc.

From the 80 entries submitted 30 have been selected for this months voting booth.

Please make use of the voting booth to cast your vote for your favourite entry.

Entries can viewed as -

1. Slideshow
2. Thumbnails

great pictures and the toughest one (for me anyway) to vote for but I went with the one that I liked right at the start of the month. Is it me but Black and White pictures are so much more artistic than color. Congrats to everyone the slideshow was a pleasure to sit through. :D

Incredibly high standard this month, in fact, IMO the highest quality voting booth so far...I am beginning to regret my choice of shot!!!

Good luck all, may the best tone win..

Choice was so difficult, but vote cast. The usual high standard form BF members.Good luck to all those whose entries have been chosen.

Announcing the winners of the May 2006 theme challenge

A very popular theme this month with many top notch entries. A little surprising the voting wasn't lot closer, though the winner definitely had the added factor of cuteness |=)|

1st place goes to jenygard with Mute swan with chick which attracted 33/146 votes.

Joint 2nd place with 14 votes each were

- DOC with B&W Reflection
- bpw with Hovering Tern

Congratulations to all who entered and to each of the winners :t:

Entries will remain in place until details of the June competition are posted.
