Birds getting head stuck in Yankee droll (1 Viewer)

Twice in the past month a small brown bird has gotten its head stuck in a Yankee Droll tube feeder trying to access seed below the station they were accessing. Unfortunately the first died before we saw it. We thought it was a fluke. But it happened again 2 weeks later. We rescued that one by gently guiding its head out by accessing him from the bottom of the feeder.

I've had these feeders for over 5 years and this has never happened! What the heck is going on? I've taken the feeders down to keep it from happening again!
