Hello Birders
I was out birding this morning and saw a Great Blue Heron quickly grap a fish. It was just holding it for a few seconds and I was wondering if it would eat the fish or bring it to it's nest for the baby(s). But it just dropped the fish back into the lake and began looking for something else to eat.
Why did the heron do that. Maybe it was just a dead fish and the heron decided that it was really no good to eat, especially if it was looking for something to bring up to the nest.
What do you think? Do birds think like that?
