Thai and Philippine birds very different?

Going to The Philippines in 3 weeks time (Bohol and Cebu). Just me and the wife. Last year we went to Thailand and I took bins, camera and 'Field guide to the birds of Thailand', Graig Robson.

Just like in Thailand I won't be going overboard with the birding - probably hire a moped and try to visit a few good sites or short guided tour - I read Bohol is good.

So my question is: Will the above book suffice for my trip and cover most of the birds I am likely to see or are there quite a few different types of birds present in the 2 countries and should I fork out quite a bit of cash for 'A guide to the birds of the Philippines'?

Thanks

&
