The heat we had here in ohio did its damage to my new flowers.

Same here. New addition of a family of ground hogs didnt help here, either.
Wife sits out by what was her flower garden, armed with a garden hose in evening.
Offered her a colander to use as a helmet in case the whistle pigs fight back.
Guess I'll be sleeping in that flower garden for awhile.
Hummers are holding their own, in spite of the "hot".
Hatch of small arboreal orb weaving spiders had 'em happy today.
