Various birds from Turkey.

Hello

Had these in Turkey last Month , and I need help with the ID Please.

-Bird in pic 1 and 2 :No any Idea

-Duck in Picture 3 : A gadwall ??

-Bird in pic 4 : Armeinan Gull ??

-Bird in Pic 5 : Green sandpiper or Wood sandpiper ??

1-2 = 1cy yellow-legged gulls
3 mother common pochard with chicks
4 adult yellow-legged gull
5 green sandpiper

Lou , thank you , but why the gull is yellow-legged not Armenian ??

unless it is photogr. on lake van, this is quite a classic YLG.
adult armenian has a smaller p10 mirror, less chunky structure and black usually down to p4

of course they do - that's why they're called armenian gulls
but this pic was made in turkey - whereever.

in that case i'd be careful and leave it iunidentified. i think both YLGs and armenians occure there, with michahellis being the "vagrant" one, so the chance is good that it shows an armenian gull. pointers to look for: small p10 mirror, more black (even more) than YLG in wingtip, usually reaching down to p4, slightly darker mantle (not discernable if not in direct comparison) and usually dark eyes in adults (with exceptions).
