Redpolls again (2 Viewers)

Hi Brian,
From top to bottom
1&2 look good for Mealy (flammea). 2 looks to me about as good as you'll get for a Mealy - extent of pink, bill, wingbar and flank streaking ruling out Arctic.
Not sure on 3 but i'd be inclined towards flammea rather than cabaret
4 looks good for cabaret.

The covert bar on this one looks to be towards the cabaret end of that scale to me. All the illustrations I can find of flammea show a white wingbar for adult male. Is this not correct?

The observer reckons he has relocated the male bird mentioned here and it has a buff wingbar and dark rump so now reckons it is a Lesser Redpoll. I still reckon bird 3 could still be a flammea but you can't be sure from the pics.

Thanks for your help guys.
