Juvenile Large Falcon - Kuwait (1 Viewer)

The attached photographs were taken last year in Kuwait. Any opinions about the identity of this bird, especially whether it might be a hybrid, would be very welcome.

Hi Gregory,

Is it the same bird on both photos? The left photo recalls a Lanner, with rounded wing-tips, pale primaries contrasting with coverts, and long tail... and the second, of course in a different flight position, looks narrow and pointed wings, uniformly spotted primaries/coverts pattern, shorter tailed like a Barbary Falcon...

Probably the larger versions of those photos will help....

I have attached the photographs in a different way and hope that they open bigger.
This bird was submitted to KORC as a Barbary Falcon, but we want to be sure that it is not a hybrid falconer's bird.
Further opinions are welcome.

calidus Peregrine ...looks uppertail coverts, tail barring, underneath streaking, huge strong bill, long narrow "hand" , strong feet, white nape and cheeck, etc. etc.
