Natural World - Galapagos: Islands of Change (1 Viewer)

Excellent programme showing the impacts, positive and negative, people are having on the Galapagos wildlife.

And at the end, an utterly outstanding shot of a whale shark emerging from the ocean's gloom surrounded by thousands upon thousands of fish! It was like a monster from the deep, the first shot I've ever seen on TV to really capture the immensity of them.

Agreed a must see. :t:

Lots of information about the islands wildlife, and plenty of bird news on the go. It was an eye opener to note that some bird species are very rare there (one species at 80 left in the wild) and are being watched most of the time.

Birds such as the Friget bird, and the Pelicans love being fed with fish from Fishermen. The local people filleted fish them in the open, and the scraps thrown away. The birds queued up for a morsal or two and did they fight for their piece of fish!!

Sea Lions shared the beach, along with people sunbathing without even a flinch. They climbed stairs without struggling - the sad fact is that many Sea Lions are not healthy due to the human population being so close by.

The Whale Shark was WOW, and the diver seemed tiny next to it - looked quite spectacle to see. Yess.. a must see :t::t::t::t:

Kathy
