Nikon remote cord (1 Viewer)

There has been a lot of discussion about the short comings of the

Nikon lead recently, mine died after moderate use for four months. Can any one explain how the malfunction mentioned in the cords
manuel might manifest it self when the lead is disconnected from camera, when it is still switch on.

Len,there certainly seems to be a lot of controversy re the nikon remote.I use it all the time,as if I don,t I do get terrible camera shake.the only time I find it is problematic is when the batteries are low,then it canblank out.But when I have inserteda new battery it seems okay.But i do leave mine plugged in to the camera all the time,and I check that after removing and re-inserting the compact card,it is still secure and has not been accidentally dislodged.
