Odd bird in Cumbria (1 Viewer)

Surreybirder

Ken Noble
Someone has sent me photos of a bird on their roof in Cumbria, taken recently as far as I know. I have to admit that I'm stumped. Someone suggested ptarmigan but I'm pretty sure it's not a grouse. Could it be an escape of some sort?
Grateful for help.
Ken

There are some amazingly weird-looking domestic pigeon breeds out there. This one isn't even that extreme-looking - but still easily enough to confuse people!
