Vietnam April 2014: Bach Ma and Hanoi (1 Viewer)

I visited Vietnam this April, it was mostly a family holiday with some birding thrown in.

I went to Bach Ma National Park in Central Vietnam. No spectacular observations or really new site information, but as the park just reopened after several years being closed down because of road works, I thought it would still be worthwhile to put together a small trip report.

Most of the family time we spent in Hanoi, which gave me the opportunity to look for migrants around the green spaces in the city. Not really on the birding map for Vietnam, Hanoi is indeed great for migrants. Together with a friend there, we even managed to find two firsts for Vietnam, a Paddyfield Warbler and a Silver Oriole (some more details on these sightings also on the Vietnambirdnews blog).

Regards,
