Hobby in NW London? (1 Viewer)

My husband has just spotted a bird of prey in our small garden (near a park) in NW London. He says it was the size of a pigeon and reckons it looks like a hobby from checking in our books. It had caught something - probably a sparrow as our flock of sparrows, that we have been feeding, have now disappeared... He could see some light stripes on its tail, but no more than that.

Could it be a hobby?

Thanks.

Certainly been a number of Hobby over suburban London in recent weeks, but this one does sound like a Sparrowhawk from the description.
