Where to go in southern China? (1 Viewer)

I have three weeks' vacation in January and I'm considering doing a bird photography trip in southern China. (I live in Shanghai.) I have some ideas about where to go but I want others' opinions. My goal is to be in a place that's not too cold and that will have plenty of resident birds as well as wintering birds. Where can I go to see something extraordinary?

I'm not sure, but I'm interested to hear others' answers! (I'm sure part of the answer is some place far enough away from the sound of fireworks, which I assume will keep birds away from those areas :))

Strongly suggest Ruili in southern Yunnan - masses of birds (maybe the county with the best list in Chin), nice climate

I even have gen.

Cheers

Thanks, Mike. I've started my research into Ruili and what I've been finding looks very promising indeed.
