I've just spent a long weekend in the Speyside / Cairngorm area and on one day climbed Ben MacDui and Cairngorm. The weather was good and the birds sensational, not big numbers but fantastic views. The main species we saw were Ptarmigan (probably about 20 birds, but many others heard) and 2 pairs of Snow Bunting including 1 singing male.

No sign of any Dotterel, perhaps we were a week early.
