Dunlin? Carr Mill Dam, St Helens April this year (1 Viewer)

Just joined up and mainly for help with bird identification and my own education - and I'll be posting more (terrible) photos from my files, sorry about that.

And sorry that it's an awful photo montage, but the bird was miles away and I only had my zoom compact on me.

Taken at Carr Mill Dam, St Helens, UK in April this year.

It was about 25cms approx tall - just smaller than a chicken (I think) - poking its beak into the mud.

Thought it might be a Dunlin, but what do I know ;-)

Any help appreciated.
